LONDON FASHION WEEK A/W 2012

I'm mad mad busy at uni with about 10000 different briefs all running at the same time that i have to juggle between therefore i have not been able to watch as much of LFW as i would have liked! Reading week has been a week early i think it should have been this week instead so i could have geeked out online watching all the live streams! I also timed my trip to London wrong, i visited London last week with my boyfriend, and i saw all the LFW posters in shop windows. I would have LOVED to have been at LFW! However tonight i have caught up on all the shows that i have missed including, House of Holland, Mulberry, Vivienne Westwood, Nicole Farhi, Unique, Paul Smith, Matthew Williamson... the list goes on.

I defiantly have a few faves however i have fallen in love with Mary Katrantzou's collection!!! From the structures, the layers, geometric shapes, space age feel, metallics, origami like cut outs to the models geometric eye-liner and messy buns! I loved everything about the collection. The detail of the couture like dresses were influenced by everyday humdrum objects such as spoons, pencils, type writers and hangers!
Instant WOW factor.

(Currently bidding for one of her t-shirts designed for Topshop on eBay as they have all sold out!!!)

House of Holland was also another collection that i fell in love with! Simply because it is so fun, bright and colourful !! The way the colours are used send off an energetic feel... This collection has defiantly got the FUN factor!!!

I would love to be able to afford & purchase a Mulberry yeti style coat!! Deffo a must have, even if i do have to settle for a high street version..
The catwalk was inspired by 'Where the Wild Things Are".

"Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen and Lan Del Rey were just few of the A-listers who sent the paps into a frenzy. And after much speculation over whether Lana del Rey would perform, she happily took her seat to watch the show, and albeit we were a little disappointed she didnt sing, we were quickly distracted by one of the three new Mulberry bag family additions, named after the singer herself, the Del Rey. Launching in May, the Del Rey, like its namesake, mixes old school glamour with eclectic influences, creating a slightly sportier/doctor’s bag like version of the Bayswater." - Grazia

THE NEW MULBERRY BAG IS THE DEL REY!

"The Del Rey is a simple, chic and (as you might expect) vintagey-classic design. A simple silhouette with twin grab handles, it has the classic Mulberry postman’s lock to the side. Available from May in 'mainline' finishes (Mulberry classics like oak and black buffalo) and as part of the Autumn/Winter collection in a berry coloured black-forest soft matte (immediately above), deer brown grainy print, black soft spongy and petrol coloured tanned lambskin. The Catwalk Collection also features two new super-luxe leathers, gold large metallic snake print and ink blue sparkle croc print. " - Grazia
The MUST have!!!

TOPSHOP UNIQUE was another one of my faves, for me this collection is the most wearable, one that i will definatly be investing into! This collection is very young, fresh and edgy, i loved the oversized jackets and the long baggy dresses and jumpsuits. Very cool. PVC and leather will be making a comeback this year.. yay! I also liked the moss green colours and the textures of the fabrics used. I spotted plenty of pleats and velvet. I liked the military caps the models were wearing.
